2013 Under Armour All-America Game: The Miami Targets

Recruiting season is about to ramp up in a big way, and it all begins with the annual Under Armour All-America game. The Canes have a few targets that are participating in the game that night. The time is nigh, Canes folks. The recruiting all-star and all-american games are getting set to take place, and that can only mean one thing: grown men fawning over high school kids. Creepy, yes, but also a booming industry and a focal point of the off season for any football fan. These kids could potentially shape your team's future, so of course it's understandable that a lot of people have a lot of invested time. The first game on the slate is the Under Armour All-America game. Here's a look at the rosters for both sides: Black team ("Highlight") | White team ("Nitro) As you can see, there are a lot of kids that will be playing, but only that select handful will have the attention of the masses. For Hurricane's coaches and fans alike, there's a pretty decent list of guys that will be there: Matthew Thomas Tim Williams Reuben Foster Stacy Coley Marquedius Bain Jordan Cunningham Kevin Olsen (Committed) Artie Burns (Committed) Quinton Powell Denver Kirkland Yannick Ngakoue A few of these names may be ones that you don't readily recognize, and that's normal. These are guys that either still are, or once were, Miami targets. Some have started to fall back for various reasons, while others have surged to the front of the "must have" list. The first name, for example, is at the top of Miami's board. Matthew Thomas is a ridiculous talent, and has been at the top of our list for a long, long time. He more or less will come packaged with OL Denver Kirkland, who is a star in his own right. The other big targets in this game are WR Stacy Coley, DE Tim Williams, and LB Reuben Foster. Out of those three, I could see Coley being the most likely, as it seems that Williams has started to cool off a bit, and not many people think that Miami stands a chance with Foster, although he will be visiting January 18th as of right now. Two guys that are already committed that will be playing are QB Kevin Olsen, brother of Greg Olsen, and DB Artie Burns. Both guys have been commits for a while now, and neither are showing signs of flipping elsewhere. This is going to be a fun game to watch, and SOTU will have more updates for you as we get closer, including more detailed info on the Miami targets and the likelihood that we will end up with any of the above guys.
